Greetings

For many years I have been observing Christians and our political methods ... For a long time I faithfully followed the crowd and believed everything I was told.  But one day ... I had to look deeper ... and I discovered that I should have followed scripture first ... specifically the passage that calls me/us to test all things. Had I done this ... I would not have been misled.  I do mourn with fellow Christians the loss of the position we once had in society at large ... But ... perhaps like many of you ...  I found I had to eventually accept this new reality.

In our acceptance of this (or lack there-of)  it appears that some have gotten desperate and others have unsuspectingly followed.  But desperate people do desperate things.  It is easy to let mourning and defensiveness take charge of our lives ... and establish themselves above Christ.  This is my best explanation of what I am seeing.  In our rush to regain our standing we have ... in my opinion ... unfortunately resorted to the ways of the world ... the ways of earthly politics (with all of its lies and slander and innuendo) to gain control again.  The problem is we are fighting for the wrong goals and the wrong kingdom.  Christ has given us a commmision ... not for political victories but for spiritual ones ... not to hide from the world around us as some suggest we should do ... but to go spread His gospel.  We are to make disciples ... not laws ... I am not saying that Christians should not be involved in the political process ... but when we do get involved we need to put holiness first and Christ must be central. So on these pages I explore various political ploys of Christian organizations.  I use the word 'ploys' because often that is what they are.  This has been a sad and disappointing journey for me ... as I have discovered that many I trusted for much of my life have slipped due to their quest for political victory.   On the tabs above I will tell you more about myself and my journey ... as well as the theology of my church ... And I also share my investigations into our often unholy venture into politics.  My hope is that we can turn back from this course and get back to our roots as lovers and followers of Christ.  Be assured that God has been around a long time ... Nothing phases Him.  And He is still sovereign and in control of the world and of history.  What is needed is for us to make sure we are on board with Him.
